Littlemen are to release Obstacles, their debut 3 track EP, on CD and download on Eyes Wide Shut Recordings on 14th May 2010.
After forming in 2009, the band put pen to paper with the aim of creating a collection of music that will promote public awareness
for much needed research into finding a cure spinal injuries.
Featuring full instrumental and acoustic versions of the title track and a third track entitled A Long Road, the EP blends effortlessly melodic,
acoustic-rooted tunes with emotive lyrics.
With beautiful and haunting lead vocals by Simon Allen, Obstacles is inspirational and thought provoking.
The proceeds from the sale of the EP will go to The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation,
a charity that is funding medical research which aims to help people living with paralysis.
The cause is very close to co-writer and producer Nick Allen, who is effected by paralysis himself.
Nick said, “This research will help to make a significant difference to lives of over 2.5 million people worldwide, including myself.
I know from experience that music and lyrics is a very effective way of getting a strong message across,
and I felt that it was important that we do something to raise awareness for the research programme.”
Littlemen is a collaboration of professional musicians who all are all well established and respected artists in their own right.
With years of experience between them, individually they have toured and recorded with artists that include
Goldfrapp, Robert Plant, Peter Gabriel, Delays and The Proclaimers.
Together with a production team that match their skill and knowledge,
the band have dedicated many hours of their free time and resources to create this stunning EP.
Littlemen are planning to release full length album in August 2010 , also on Eyes Wide Shut Recordings.
