into finding a cure for spinal injury. The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation was set up by internationally-renowned
chef David Nicholls after his son, Daniel, was left paralysed following a swimming accident.
Daniel, who was 19, was enjoying the fifth week of his GAP year in Australia on the world-famous Bondi Beach
when he swam into a wave, hit an unseen sandbank and broke his neck.
Having been told that his son would never walk again, David set about trying to make sure that,
one day, he would - and the charity was born.

It is dedicated to raising money into research that will hopefully provide a breakthrough in the
treatment of spinal injuries with the aim to help Daniel, and many others like him, to get back on their feet.
